FAQ's

Some answers to the frequently asked questions about the wedding ring workshops.

What metals can we make our rings in?
You can choose between yellow, white or rose gold in both 9 and 18ct. Palladium is an increasingly desirable metal with couples and we introduced it to our workshops in 2014. Silver is also available along with Ecosilver and Ecogold which are both 100% recycled metals, a truly green wedding ring choice!

What if we live far away and can't attend the initial meeting?
A lot of our couples live too far away to come for an initial meeting (our furthest couple travelled from Dubai) and it can all be discussed via email, all you need to do is get your ring sizes to me.

When can we come to a workshop?
The teaching studio is available mostly weekends and Fridays with some Mondays free for wedding ring workshops too. Saturdays and Sundays get booked up fast so don't leave it too late to chat dates with us!

How much will the metal cost?
Metal prices change daily and how much is needed depends on your ring sizes and desired styles. But to help give you an idea I have priced up a pair of wedding bands in average ring sizes, one thin and one wide band.
9ct yellow gold for 2 classic wedding bands £175 (approx)
18ct yellow gold for 2 classic wedding bands £385 (approx)
Palladium for 2 classic wedding bands £620 (approx)
Silver for 2 classic wedding bands £15 (approx)
Email me the style of rings you'd like to make and I can give you an accurate quote.

What if we aren't artistic or creative?
Sometimes people can be worried that the ring they make will be a bit wonky but I tell everyone that with personal tuition they will make a perfectly round and beautifully finished rings. Making a ring is a step by step project and I will make a ring too, so I show you how each step is carried out and help you through executing all the stages needed.

How long does it take to make the rings?
Every couple works at a different pace and we will carry on until you are happy with your beautiful rings but an average time for a couple to spend with us is 10.30am - 3pm.

Do we take our rings away at the end of the day?
After you've completed your rings then they are sent for hallmarking. Once they are returned to me I will parcel them up and post to you Special Delivery (fully insured). If your workshop is booked close to your big day then you can take them with you and return them to me for hallmarking (if you can bear to part with them)

You are not seemingly the cheapest wedding ring workshop in the UK?
No but if you look a little closer you can see I am about the same price as others as my metal costs are alot less then other workshops out there. Some workshops hide extra costs with the metal fee. I always charge the couple what I have paid for the metal and include a copy of the bullion dealers receipt so you know you have paid trade for your metal. The Cross Street package also includes hallmarking of your rings, polishing or matting cloths to keep your desired finish on your rings and a cd of photos of you making them.

Cancellations
Workshop dates that are cancelled by the couple more than 4 weeks from workshop date will receive a refund of money they paid less £50 admin fee. All workshops cancelled by couple within 4 weeks of date of workshop will not receive a refund.
